About me
'About me' sounds a bit pretentious, but I'm not, hopefully.
Just to give a bit of background.
I've been involved with dogs for almost 50 years now, and when I found that competing just wasn't enough, though I loved it, I found that I got more satisfaction out of painting the dogs that I've known and many I've never met, but was lucky enough to get commissioned to paint.
I paint in Acrylic, as it dries quick and I like to see things happening before my eyes.
Collies are probably my favourites as I've been involved with them most of the time, they have such a variety of types and their expressions are so, well, 'expressive'
I work from Photographs and as most collies are black and white there's not usually a problem with colour unless they are reds and the shade has to be right, however I usually manage to get some sort of likeness in the end,
The eyes are the most important, and as long as I have a good clear photo with the eyes in focus it mostly works.
Prices
It costs around £80 to £100 for collies, other breeds a bit more expensive as they aren't usually so straightforward, involving more work re coat and and colour differences, but usually around £120. Head and shoulders, full pose studies will be more expensive. prices include P&P UK.
I will send the painting to you by email in stages for correction, though colours don't always show true and allowances have to be made, but hopefully a good likeness can be recognised
